The Patent and Trademark Office Society internet committee proudly announces a new website and a new look.
On August 4, 2006, the PTOS Internet committee publicly activated the new PTOS website featuring a whole new look for http://ptos.org. The new website features a new clean look that is straightforward and easy to navigate. Most information is accessible from the home page via at most one click. Drop down menu's allow for random browsing across all areas of the website without worrying about how to get "there" from "here".
On the web server side, the new website is powered by new software that allows the PTOS system to handle ten times more load than the previous software handled while providing the same level of service. The new software also allows authorized individuals to update the website content using an editing interface that looks and feels very similar to using MS-WORD (TM), all without having to understand HTML, the language of the web.
Additionally, due to the efficiency gains provided by the new software, the new website significantly reduces the monetary costs involved in maintaining and operating the website, allowing a larger portion of the member's dues to be utilized for other PTOS events.
