“Innovation and Exploration”
The PTOS Education Committee presents:
“Innovation and Exploration”
A talk by Dr. Bill Stone
Tuesday, July 15th, 1–2 p.m. ET

Dr. Stone will share how the invention process has worked for him over the past 45 years, focusing on equipment for underwater and deep cave terrestrial exploration projects, as well as technology for outer-planet life search missions.
William Stone, Ph.D., is a lifelong explorer, inventor, and entrepreneur, currently serving as CEO of Stone Aerospace, Inc. Over his career, he’s founded six startup companies, obtained 36 patents (and counting), and served on the boards of four corporations.
In fact, it might be said that he’s had at least three parallel careers: first, developing autonomous vehicles in support of NASA missions; second, leading diving expeditions into little-known environments on Earth; and third, as a frequent spokesman for science and exploration. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his Ph.D. in structural engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
