(Note that street parking is limited, but it’s an easy walk from the PTO buildings. Also, as the tour will be mostly outside, please note that it may be postponed in the event of extreme heat or other inclement weather.)

Following our recent visit to their Educational Lobby, AlexRenew has invited PTOS members for an exclusive tour of their treatment plant. Join us to see in practice how wastewater is treated, and particularly how a small-footprint facility manages a densely-populated service area.

AlexRenew serves as the wastewater treatment authority for the City of Alexandria and neighboring areas. While you can expect some walking and stair-climbing on the tour, you shouldn’t have to worry about odors: the plant does exceptionally well at preventing them.
