Become a Mentor

Join the Patent and Trademark Office Society and the USPTO Affinity Groups in the New Examiner Mentoring Program! This voluntary peer-based mentoring program offers you a great way to meet new people and help out a new fellow examiner. In the previous pilot of the New Examiner Mentoring Program, the mentees were retained at a rate more than double that of their classmates who did not participate in NEMP and many of the pairings resulted in lasting friendships.

If you are an examiner who has been at the USPTO for more than two (2) years and are willing to be a mentor, please complete this form.  Please note that participation in this program is voluntary and no non-production time is offered. The program is expected to be for one year and we anticipate a time commitment of up to four (4) hours per month.
