ReSET Mentoring Information Session

Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer in the greater DC community this Fall?
Do you wish you could use your science and engineering background to inspire the next generation of inventors?

If so, come to an information session hosted by PTOS’s own ReSET mentoring group, Wednesday, September 12 from Noon-1:00 in MDE 5A44.  We will be providing food and drinks.

ReSET, a non-profit group started in DC, puts current and retired engineers into local public schools to engage students with hands on science and engineering experiments.

For the past two years, amazing PTOS volunteers have formed their own ReSET group and have been working with 3rd and 4th graders at Whittier Elementary School, a DC science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) school.  We will be starting the semester off in October (after the end of the year deadline of course) and will be conducting the following experiments: fingerprinting, solar cars, candy bridges, dry-ice ice cream and an egg drop, the last of which is hosted in the PTO atrium.

This will be a great time for anyone interested in volunteering with PTOS’s ReSET group to obtain more information about our group as well as ask any questions you may have.

For any questions please contact PTOS ReSET Co-Chairs Danielle Clerkley (Danielle.Clerkley@uspto.gov) or Pete Mehravari (peter.mehravari@uspto.gov)
