What is the GIPA Mentoring Program?

The GIPA Mentoring Program pairs USPTO employees with visiting scholars from foreign countries in the Patent, Trademark or Copyright fields. The USPTO employee acts as a mentor to the visiting scholar.  Participating countries include Brazil, Tunisia, Egypt, Philippines, Lebanon, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Nigeria, Russia, Morocco, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Lebanon, Swaziland, etc..

What will be my responsibilities as a Mentor? 

Mentors are requested to attend lunch time and after hour events to discuss IP as well as cultural issues with their mentees. After hour events include trips to Kennedy Center for a show, as well as seasonally arranged events to the museums in DC.
